The Art of Flattery

Flattery is not a like able term, yet we know how essential it is for success in life. Flattery is the art of pleasing people. Polonius in Hamlet is a typical example of courtiers who pleased the king. Socrates is the example of public men who did not humor the people. If flattery is so widespread, why should we feel shy of being called a flatterer? Be like the lake of soft blue waters which respond to every gale and the beloved of all, rather than be like the hard rough stone which is evaded by everyone.
