Imagination and dreams

There is more pleasure in building castles in the air than on the ground. Man is a pleasure loving animal. He wants diversity of enjoyments. His intelligence has certainly enabled him to get a much greater variety of enjoyment than is open to animals. Music, poetry, science, games, meat, drink, love and sex are some from which people of different temperaments and mental makeup derives pleasure. There are others who undertake hazardous journeys on the unknown oceans. In fact he who knows how to build castles in the air knows what the secret or perennial pleasure is, and which never gives one a feeling of satiety or frustration. Imagination is not only the mother of arts but also of all scientific inventions and discoveries. All major inventions are the results of imagination of scientists. Life would have been bitter, if man had not been endowed with power of imagination. Desires, sometimes, remain desires. There are some moments in every one’s life when all seems to perish. Imagination serves the purpose of a safety valve and it should be allowed to do so for the sake of existence.
